Deputies arrest Modesto man at rooster fight
Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Modesto man on several charges after responding to a report of people conducting rooster fights.
According to a news release, deputies were called to the 2000 block of Poland Road at 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
“Deputies contacted the resident and during their investigation they found approximately 50 roosters in individual cages and three dead roosters,” authorities said in the release. Animal Control officers responded and took custody of the roosters.
Deputies arrested Felix Burciago, 42, on charges of animal cruelty, fighting animals or birds, and possession of implements used to fight roosters.
