Two dead, one injured in Crows Landing shooting, authorities say
A shooting left two men dead and a woman injured in Crows Landing on Saturday night, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were called to an orchard near Villa Manucha and Kilburn roads at 7 p.m. after an adult male phoned 911 and told dispatchers he had shot two people, according to a department news release.
When deputies arrived, they found the three victims roadside on Kilburn Road – “literally on the side of the road,” Deputy Anthony Bejaran said. The adult woman was taken to a hospital; there was no information on her injuries.
According to Bejaran, detectives arrived at the scene and were still in the very early stages of their investigation at 9:30 p.m., with no information immediately on what led to the shootings or the identification or descriptions of the victims.
“We have no idea what happened yet,” he said. “We’re still trying to figure out what relationship the three had, if any, to each other.”
We’ll have more on the story as information becomes available.
