Robber takes TVs from Modesto Target store, shows gun to security
Police are seeking a man who took two televisions from the Target store on Sisk Road in north Modesto last week. The thief allegedly displayed a handgun when security personnel pursued him.
The robbery occurred Friday about 3 p.m. A man described as white, about 6 feet tall and 320 pounds entered the store and “grabbed a couple of large TVs,” said Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves. “He was followed by loss-prevention officers and he displayed a handgun in his waistband and told them they’d better not be security. He loaded (the items) into what looks like a (Toyota) Scion.”
The stolen televisions were valued at a combined $1,300. Surveillance images show the robber as a balding man with a closely shaved head, a mustache and goatee.
The vehicle in which he left was black.
Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Tipsters can email through the Crime Stoppers website, www.stancrimetips.org, or text tips to 274637 by typing “Tip704” plus a message. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward.
