Man in parked car robbed of cash, other items in Modesto
Police are looking for two suspects who robbed and fired at least one shot at a man parked in his car on Wednesday afternoon in central Modesto.
Officers were called to the area of East Coolidge and Sunrise avenues just north of Orangeburg Avenue at 1:54 p.m. on a report of shots fired, according to Sgt. Chris Adams of the Modesto Police Department.
When they arrived, they found a man who had been robbed of cash and personal items by two people described as black males around the age of 18.
As the two suspects fled on foot, they fired at least one shot in the direction of the victim. Nobody was struck by the bullet.
Nearby Elliott Alternative Education Center, which had just let out, was placed on lockdown as officers searched the area for the suspects, Adam said.
The suspects were last seen fleeing west on Coolidge.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
