Ceres man sentenced to five years in prison for DUIs

A Ceres man was sentenced recently to five years in state prison in connection with his third and fourth felony drunken-driving cases, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

In December, Alberto Villasenor, 46, backed his car into another vehicle at the Crows Landing flea market, causing minor damage to both vehicles. He then drove away.

Within an hour, California Highway Patrol officers found Villasenor at his house in Ceres. He showed obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and hit and run, according to a press release.

A chemical test showed Villasenor’s blood alcohol level to be 0.16, twice the legal limit.

Two months later, on Feb. 14, Villasenor drove the same car into a concrete trash can at a Ceres AM/PM.

Officers saw signs of alcohol intoxication, officials said, and arrested Villasenor. A chemical test revealed his blood alcohol level to be 0.20.

Villasenor served time in prison in 2005 and again in 2012 for felony drunken driving, which elevated the two recent cases from misdemeanor to felony charges. Villasenor pleaded guilty in both recent cases last month.
