Stolen car used as battering ram in Ceres gun store burglary
Two men stole dozens of firearms from a Ceres gun store by driving a stolen car into the store, smashing through metal bars and the windows.
The burglary occurred about 5 a.m. Saturday at CenCal Tactical on Mitchell Road, said Ceres police Sgt. Jose Berber. The store is owned by police Sgt. Patrick Sullivan and son Randy Sullivan, a Ceres firefighter.
The burglars took 24 handguns, a shotgun, a rifle and parts for an AR-15 rifle.
The car they drove into the store was a blue 1986 Toyota Camry with license plate 7DWG658, which was stolen from Oakland. Berber said the car has not been located.
He said the burglars were wearing hooded sweatshirts, but no other information was available.
