Janitorial service worker sought after Turlock bank robbery

An employee of a janitorial service that cleans the Tri Counties Bank at 2900 Geer Road is wanted by police on suspicion of robbing the bank.

About 9 a.m. Tuesday, Clinton Russell Holmes, 35, entered the bank and asked an employee to step to the back of the business, according to a news release from the Turlock Police Department.

Upon reaching the back of the business, Holmes, who is known to bank employees, told the teller that it was a robbery and demanded money, police said.

The teller complied with the request, and Holmes then ran away from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. He said he had a weapon, but none was seen. No one was injured during the robbery.

Turlock police are asking for the public’s help in locating Holmes. Anyone who sees him is urged not to approach or attempt contact with him, but to call 911.

Anyone with information about the case and Holmes’ whereabouts is asked to call Detective Brandon Bertram at 209-668-5550, ext. 6623.

The Turlock Police Department participates in the Crime Stoppers program. Callers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at 209- 521-4636 and are eligible for a cash reward.
