Tuolumne County felon arrested on weapons charges

A 28-year-old felon was arrested Tuesday on felony charges after he was found with a shotgun and Molotov cocktails made out of wine bottles, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at 10:22 a.m. reporting gunshots and a man running around the Airport Village Mobile Home Park. The man was reportedly bleeding from the arm.

Deputies learned that Geoffrey Wagner, 28, who lives in the mobile home park, suffered cuts to his arm when he broke a window, a news release said.

Searching his residence, deputies found a shotgun and what appeared to be three destructive devices.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department Special Operations Division inspected the suspicious materials and determined some of them to be Molotov cocktails.

Wagner was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of being felon in possession of a firearm and of possession of a destructive device.

He was being held at the Tuolumne County jail on $20,000 bail.
