Turlock man arrested after woman is kidnapped at ATM
A 19-year-old Turlock man faces charges of robbery, sexual assault and kidnapping after he accosted a woman at a bank Tuesday, according to Turlock police.
The suspect, Robert Green, approached a woman at an ATM at Valley First Credit Union on Geer Road, police said.
Green allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. He then allegedly forced her to get into her own vehicle and they drove to a nearby park. Police said Green demanded sexual acts from the victim, and she refused. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and call for help.
Officers located the victim’s vehicle being driven by Green near Donnelly Park. Green failed to yield and a pursuit began, police said. The pursuit ended when Green stopped and ran away near the 2500 block of Yale Court, police said.
Officers found Green in a residence and took him into custody without incident at about 11:30 p.m., police said.
Green is charged with robbery, sexual assault, reckless evading and kidnapping.
