Video shows man breaking into Modesto law firm

A burglar was caught on camera shattering the glass door of a Modesto law office and crawling out with a flat panel television Sunday.

At about 5:30 a.m., the suspect parked a pickup at the Law Offices of Mark S. Nelson at 215 McHenry Ave., in clear view of the business’s security camera.

The suspect appeared to tamper with the locks for several minutes before getting a tool out of the pickup and smashing the glass door.

He crawled in and several minutes later emerged with a flat panel television.

Officer Manager Tom Nelson said the firm’s private investigator ran the license plate and identified the registered owner. He gave the information to Modesto Police detectives.
