Man arrested in Sonora on robbery, other charges
Tuolumne County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Tuolumne City resident Friday afternoon outside Sonora Regional Medical Center.
The Sheriff’s Office received a tip that 28-year-old Andrew Oppenhein, a wanted felon for numerous drug sales charges, possessing a firearm, and robbery, was at the hospital.
Deputies found him near his white Ford truck and ordered him away from the vehicle. As a K9 stood by, Oppenhein was taken into custody without incident.
He was booked on three felony warrants with charges that include robbery, transporting or selling a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm and a misdemeanor charge of false registration.
He is being held without bail.
