Modesto man in critical condition after hit-and-run
A 47-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in south Modesto and left unconscious in the road.
Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves said the Modesto man was walking at the intersection of Hatch and Ustick roads when he was hit by a car at about 10:30 p.m.
The man suffered major head trauma and multiple broken bones. He was not conscious when officers arrived and the driver had fled the scene so few details about the collision were available.
The person who called 911 to report the hit-and-run said the victim was hit by a burgundy sedan that fled east on Hatch. The caller didn’t stay at the scene either and officers have not been able to contact the person.
Anyone with information about the hit and run is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.
