Women robbed outside mall in Modesto

Two woman were robbed as they walked to their car in the parking lot at Vintage Faire Mall on Sunday evening, Modesto police reported.

The women were leaving the JC Penney department store on the west end of the Sisk Road mall when they were approached by at least two men in a red pickup at about 7:30 p.m., said police Lt. Rigo DeAlba. One man brandished a handgun and took a cell phone and purse from the women.

No suspect descriptions were available.
