Two robbed in vehicle in downtown Modesto

Two people were robbed early Wednesday while stopped at a Fifth Street intersection near a Highway 99 onramp in downtown Modesto, police report.

A suspect described as a Latino male wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and a white bandanna covering part of his face pointed a firearm at the vehicle’s occupants and demanded their wallets.

He fled on foot. The robbery occurred about 12:45 a.m.
