Man, 29, arrested on suspicion of having sex with minor in Columbia College dormitory

A 29-year-old man living in a Columbia College student dormitory was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of having sex with a 16-year-old girl on campus.

Kyle Simas, 29, was arrested on suspicion of sexual penetration with a foreign object with a victim under 18-years-old, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and lewd and lascivious acts with a child.

The victim’s family reported the alleged crime to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office. To protect the victim’s privacy, no other details were released regarding the investigation.

Simas is incarcerated at the Tuolumne County Jail with a bail of $125,000.
