Deputies investigating shooting in Turlock, stabbing in Empire

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two assaults that occurred in the county over the weekend.

Just before midnight on Friday in Empire, a man was stabbed in the upper body, said Lt. Mike Parker. The attack happened in the 300 block of B Street.

Parker said the victim, who was uncooperative with deputies, was taken by ambulance to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A man who was shot in the leg Saturday afternoon also suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The shooting took place on South First Street in Turlock at about 1:45 p.m.

Parker said there was no suspect information for either attack.
