Columbia resident admits to Sonora church burglary
A Columbia resident identified through tattoos visible on surveillance video has been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a Sonora church.
Harvest Fellowship Church on Hillsdale Drive was burglarized Saturday between 1 and 2 p.m., said Tuolumne County sheriff’s Sgt. Andrea Benson. The burglar took a television and a tote bag filled with various items such as toilet paper and paper towels.
From her tattoos, deputies identified the suspect as Tiffany Morris, 22. The confronted her at a friend’s house and she admitted to committing the burglary, Benson said. However, Morris would not tell investigators where the stolen items were, and they had not been recovered as of Monday afternoon.
Morris was booked on charges of felony burglary and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. She also was sought on a warrant for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Her bail is set at $50,000.
