Boyfriend arrested in Hughson after stabbing victim treated at Modesto hospital

A man was arrested Sunday morning in Hughson and booked on an attempted murder charge in the stabbing of his girlfriend.

Modesto police Lt. Ivan Valencia said a local hospital notified police about 4:45 a.m. when a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds was taken to the hospital. Police were told the woman was in critical condition.

During the course of the investigation, police learned the woman’s boyfriend was responsible and had fled in his vehicle, Valencia said. With the help of Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies, the man was located in Hughson later in the morning and arrested.

Raymond Amador, 31, was booked at jail on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim’s name has not been released.

Investigators believe the stabbing occurred in the man’s vehicle.
