Two men suffered nonlife threatening injuries Friday night when they were shot in front of a home in the airport neighborhood.

The men were on Thrasher Avenue, north of Larkin Avenue, at about 5 p.m. when they were shot by someone in a silver sedan, said Modesto Police Lt. Ivan Valencia.

He said the men were shot in the lower extremities.

Modesto Police were alerted to the shooting when someone in the car transporting the victims to the hospital called 911.

Officers caught up to the vehicle but Valencia said, “They were so close to the hospital that instead of stopping them and unloading and having an ambulance come we just allowed them to self-transport and met them there.”
