Driver hurt in Modesto crash could face DUI charge

A Modesto woman faces a possible DUI charge after a collision Wednesday night on Crows Landing Road sent her to a hospital.

Terri McGlothin, 58, was northbound in the 2300 block of Crows Landing, north of East Whitmore Avenue, when she made a left turn into the path of an oncoming big rig, police said. The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m.

She was trapped in her car until being extricated by emergency responders. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and believe McGlothin was under the influence, police spokeswoman Heather Graves said. She did not have details on McGlothin’s condition but said the woman has “significant enough injuries that we could not book her.”

McGlothin was transported to a hospital, Graves said, and “we will seek a DA’s complaint for them to file charges.”

Information on whether the truck driver suffered injuries was not available.
