Series of vehicle break-ins reported in Turlock
The Turlock Police Department warns residents to take precautions against vehicle break-ins, especially as the holiday season approaches.
Tuesday, officers responded to reports of three such crimes within an hour. At 5:37 p.m., on the 500 block of Minaret Avenue, a backpack containing school books was taken. Thirty minutes later on the 3100 block of West Monte Vista Avenue, someone smashed a vehicle window to take a bag containing nursing equipment. At the same time on the 2700 block of Countryside Drive, someone broke a vehicle window and took a backpack containing school supplies.
Auto burglaries are common during the holidays, police say. Do not leave valuable items in plain view, always park in well-lighted areas and always close all windows and lock all doors.
Report suspicious activity to the Turlock Police Department at 209-668-1200.
