Calaveras teenage boy found safe after reported abduction

Authorities located a 14-year-old boy who had been reported missing in Calaveras County, and he may be facing criminal charges.

The California Highway Patrol had issued an Amber Alert activation Monday afternoon after Sergio Vazques reportedly was abducted in San Andreas.

Monday evening, police found him in Stockton. He was safe and speaking with investigators, according to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department.

Television news station KCRA reported Vazquez is suspected of fabricating the story and could face charges for falsifying a crime.
