Masked armed robber holds up west Modesto store
An armed robber held up a west Modesto convenience store Thursday morning and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The robbery occurred about 11:45 a.m. at Joe’s Market at Sutter and Rouse avenues, said Modesto police spokeswoman Heather Graves.
The robber, who was wearing a mask and a gray hooded-sweatshirt, entered the store and brandished a gun. Graves said the robber left the store with the stolen cash, and it appeared he made his getaway without a vehicle.
It did not appear that customers were in the store when the robbery occurred, only the clerk who was held up at gunpoint was inside the business. There were no shots fired and no injuries were reported.
Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at (209)521-4636.
