Man hospitalized after shooting in Patterson

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man wounded in Patterson Wednesday night.

According to authorities, deputies with Patterson Police Services were dispatched to the 400 block of C Street at 10:12 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots.

When they arrived, deputies found the victim, identified only as a 27-year-old Patterson man, with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

The man was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators said they believe the incident is gang-related. It was not clear whether any suspects have been identified in the case.
