Shooting reported in northeast Modesto

Modesto Police are Investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of Ensenada Drive Tuesday evening.

A 19-year-old man was taken by ambulance a Modesto hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Heather Graves said the victim was shot several times in the leg. He was not cooperating with investigators, she said.

In radio traffic to the hospital, paramedics called the scene "chaotic" as they were trying to leave with the victim.

Lt. David Van Deimen said the victim's family members were causing a disturbance but did not have any additional details.

No suspect has been identified, he said.
