Sheriff’s detectives investigating Modesto shooting

A man suffered nonlife-threatening injuries after he was shot in the leg Monday night in Modesto.

At about 7:45 p.m., Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to several 911 calls from people reporting that a man had been shot near the intersection of John and Hays streets.

When deputies arrived, they found the injured victim, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

There was no suspect information or details about the shooting as of Monday night.
