The man killed in a drunk driving crash in downtown Modesto over the weekend was identified as San Mateo resident John Bixby, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office said Monday.
The 38-year-old man died of injuries suffered in a collision Sunday afternoon when a Chevrolet Malibu collided with his car at 12th and L streets.
The 32-year-old driver of the Malibu, who was treated for moderate injuries at a nearby hospital, showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. His identify has not yet been determined because he is not licensed.
He faces charges that include manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.
