A man known to frequent Riverbank, Oakdale and Modesto is being sought on suspicion of attempted murder.

Sunday night about 11, Jeremy Rodriguez was in an argument with a 41-year-old man at Country Manor Drive and Jackson Avenue in Riverbank, according to a news release Tuesday from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The argument escalated and Rodriguez rammed the man’s vehicle with his 2000 Chevy Astro Van, striking the driver-side door, according to the news release. The victim, who was trying to get out of his vehicle when he was struck, was able to get back into his car and drive away to call 911.

The victim suffered severe injuries to one leg and was taken to an emergency room for treatment, investigators say. A passenger in his vehicle also was injured.

Authorities say Rodriguez left in his vehicle before deputies arrived. The white van bears California license plate 6H52686.
