Suspect sought after fatal shooting in Tuolumne County. Victim identified
Authorities are searching for a 55-year-old man wanted on suspicion of murder after a shooting Sunday evening at a home near Sonora, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators identified the suspect as Timothy Allen Boling, 55, who is wanted in connection with the killing of Eric Brandon Udall, 60.
Deputies responded Sunday evening to a residence in the 17900 block of Lime Kiln Road, where they launched a homicide investigation after discovering the shooting. Authorities said Boling fled before law enforcement arrived.
The sheriff’s office initially described the killing as an isolated incident between individuals and said there was no ongoing threat to the broader community.
On Monday morning, investigators publicly identified Boling as the suspect and asked for the public’s help locating him.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Boling was last seen driving a white 2002 Toyota Tundra bearing California license plate 94481A2.
Authorities warned the public not to approach or attempt to contact Boling, who is wanted on a warrant alleging one count of murder.
Anyone who sees Boling or the pickup truck is asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office communications center at 209-533-5815.
The Sheriff’s Office asks residents not to speculate about the suspect’s location on social media and instead report any information directly to law enforcement.
Investigators have not released additional information about a possible motive or the relationship between Boling and Udall.
The investigation remains ongoing.
