Turlock man charged with alleged lewd acts with a child he met at a park
A 42-year-old Turlock man was arrested in connection with an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor, according to the Turlock Police Department.
Police said Richard Giraeili was arrested following an investigation that began April 13 after officers located a missing juvenile who disclosed that while away from home, he had been sexually assaulted by a man he met at Donnelly Park.
Over the course of several weeks, detectives conducted follow-up investigation that ultimately identified and contacted the suspect, according to police.
Investigators learned Giraeili had been staying in a neighborhood near Crowell Elementary School at the time of the incident, police said.
Following an interview with detectives, Giraeili was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on a charge of committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old, according to police.
Detectives ask anyone who may have had contact with Giraeili or who may have information relevant to the investigation to contact Detective Frank Navarro at 209-664-7319.
Police said the suspect was known to drive a black 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
