Modesto DUI crackdown nets 11 arrests over Cinco de Mayo weekend

Modesto Police Department

A multi-agency DUI enforcement operation in Modesto over Cinco de Mayo weekend led to 11 arrests and dozens of citations, authorities said.

The operation, coordinated by the Modesto Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, included assistance from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and Stanislaus Regional 911.

In total, officers made 11 DUI arrests and conducted 11 DUI evaluations during the weekend crackdown, according to Modesto police.

Authorities also issued 70 citations, towed six vehicles and made three felony arrests.

Police said the effort reflects the impact of coordinated, high-visibility enforcement aimed at removing impaired drivers from the road.

“Impaired driving is preventable,” the department said in a statement. “Plan ahead. Drive sober. Arrive alive.”
