Modesto police classify suspicious death as homicide, investigation underway

The Modesto Police Department is investigating the death of a 37-year-old Modesto resident who was found by a Tuolumne River boat ramp in the 700 block of Neece Drive on Thursday.

What MPD originally described as a suspicious death is now officially a homicide investigation, the department posted on Facebook on Friday.

MPD responded to a report around 4 p.m. Thursday. Officers located Juan Carreon suffering from multiple injuries that were not specified. Medical personnel declared him dead at the scene.

The department does not have a suspect in custody.
