Armed robbers hit convenience store at Lakewood, Briggsmore in Modesto
Two males escaped with an undisclosed amount of money after an armed robbery at the QuikStop convenience store on Lakewood Avenue at Briggsmore Avenue on Tuesday night.
The robbers, both wearing bandannas to cover their faces, entered the market at about 11:20 p.m., said Modesto police Lt. Brandon Gillespie. One pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. After getting it, the suspects fled the store, but it was not clear whether they left on foot or in a vehicle.
The clerk, badly shaken by the experience, was unable to give responding officers a description of the males other than the bandannas and that one was wearing a black sweat shirt, Gillespie said.
Investigators will be seeking surveillance camera footage.
No one was injured in the robbery.
