An investigation into an auto theft led to the arrest of two people connected to car businesses in Modesto, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A Nissan Sentra was reported stolen Monday, triggering an investigation by the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force.

In an online post, CHP said the vehicle was equipped with a LoJack GPS recovery system, which allowed investigators to track the Nissan to a used-car lot on Ninth Street in Modesto.

Investigators served a search warrant at the business. The Nissan was found at the dealership along with two other stolen vehicles, CHP said. One of the vehicles was a Dodge Durango Hellcat, and the search also discovered stolen vehicle components, the post said.

Arrested were Wissam Alghazzi, 49, and Narjis Alghazzi, 22, both residents of Stanislaus County, who were identified as the owner and manager of the dealership. The businesses involved in the investigation are the City Gear dealership and a second business on Ninth Street.

The two people arrested face charges of vehicle theft, conspiracy and insurance fraud.
