SWAT raid in Tuolumne County leads to 5 arrests, meth seizure in Soulsbyville

Five people were arrested after Tuolumne County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at a residence in Soulsbyville, where investigators said methamphetamine was being used and distributed.

The Tuolumne County Narcotics Team recently received information about suspected drug activity at a home in the 20000 block of Willow Springs Drive, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office.

On the evening of March 6, members of the sheriff’s SWAT team executed a high-risk search warrant at the residence.

During the operation, deputies saw two people inside the home using methamphetamine, authorities said. Six individuals were contacted and detained at the residence.

While processing the scene, narcotics detectives located about 3.6 ounces (102 grams) of methamphetamine, along with smoking devices, a scale and ammunition, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Five of the six people contacted at the home were arrested on drug-related charges.

Authorities identified those arrested as:

  • Mary Kathleen Porter, 76
  • Brandon Wayne Morgan, 49
  • Christopher Michael Gipson, 50
  • Chandra Ann Pounds, 49
  • Colinda Christine Davis, 61

The arrests were related to allegations including selling or furnishing methamphetamine, maintaining a drug house and visiting a drug house to consume drugs, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials said the investigation stemmed from information about the distribution and use of methamphetamine at the residence.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office thanked community members who provided information that helped investigators obtain the warrant and safely carry out the operation.

“Community safety remains the Sheriff’s Office’s highest priority,” the agency said in a statement.
