Los Angeles man convicted of attempted human trafficking after Stanislaus sting
A 27-year-old Los Angeles man was convicted by a Stanislaus County jury of two felony counts of attempted human trafficking following a statewide undercover sting, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
Adrian Dontel Wilson II was found guilty of two counts of attempted pandering, a crime prosecutors said involved efforts to recruit individuals into prostitution for financial gain. Under California law, Wilson faces seven years and six months in state prison when he is sentenced.
Court records show the offenses occurred between January and February 2023, when Wilson communicated with two individuals he believed were women willing to enter the sex trade under his control. Authorities said the individuals were actually undercover law enforcement decoys participating in a coordinated human-trafficking operation.
According to a trial brief and charging documents, Wilson initially contacted an undercover Instagram account posing as a woman named “Izzy” and discussed sending her to Las Vegas to engage in prostitution. Investigators said Wilson later communicated with a second undercover decoy, also posing as a woman, and told her he would take all of her earnings as his fee.
Prosecutors said Wilson arranged to meet one of the decoys in person after multiple phone calls and messages. He was arrested when he arrived at the meeting location.
At trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Wilson described himself as a human trafficker and used the nickname “Yimp-God,” with “yimp” described as slang for “pimp.” Evidence also showed Wilson had a letter “P” tattooed on his face, which prosecutors said was meant to represent the word “pimp.”
The case was investigated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office as part of a statewide human-trafficking sting. The California Department of Justice assisted in the operation.
Court records indicate Wilson is not eligible for probation and must be sentenced to state prison. A sentencing date has not yet been announced.
