Police arrest burglary suspect found on roof of Family Dollar store in Modesto
Modesto police arrested a suspect early New Year’s Eve after officers responded to reports of a person on the roof of a Family Dollar store, authorities said.
Shortly before 7 a.m. on Dec. 31, officers were dispatched to the store at 1916 Crows Landing Road after receiving a report of a subject on the roof, according to the Modesto Police Department.
With assistance from the department’s Real Time Crime Center and a nearby city-owned surveillance camera, responding officers received live updates as the incident unfolded, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody and later booked on multiple burglary-related charges. Police did not immediately release the suspect’s name or specify how many burglaries the individual is believed to be connected to.
No injuries were reported.
