Sonora police arrest two after fentanyl, guns found during motel raid
Two people were arrested after police say they uncovered firearms, suspected fentanyl pills and drug-sales packaging during a search warrant served at a Sonora motel earlier this month.
Officers with the Sonora Police Department, assisted by the Tuolumne Narcotics Team, executed a search warrant Dec. 10 at the Sonora Gold Lodge following a weeklong investigation into suspected drug activity, according to police.
The investigation began after Sonora police received information about possible drug activity in the area. Officers conducted follow-up surveillance and observed behavior they said was consistent with ongoing drug-related activity at the motel.
During the search warrant, officers located 45-year-old Terri Lynn Smith and 59-year-old Keith Louis Dolinshek, both of Sonora. Police searched the rooms the two were occupying and reported finding firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, a significant number of suspected fentanyl pills and packaging materials consistent with drug sales.
Both individuals were taken into custody and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail, police said.
Dolinshek was booked on felony drug and weapons charges. Smith was booked on misdemeanor and felony drug charges, according to police.
