Three people suspected of robbing Modesto jewelry store

On Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, a little before 10 a.m., three suspects entered the El Centro Jewelry Store located at 1940 Crows Landing Road, in South Modesto. After looking at a few of the display counters, all three suspects pulled out handguns and proceeded to take money and jewelry. Three armed suspects robbed a perfume store in Modesto this morning, according to Sgt. Rick Armendariz of the Modesto Police Department.

Modesto police responded to a burglary alarm at the El Centro Jewelry in the 1900 block of Crows Landing Road at 9:56 a.m.

One female and two male suspects used handguns to rob the store for an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled the scene in an older, dark-colored compact car, Armendariz said.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

One male suspect is described as Hispanic between 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 5-foot-11 with a medium build. He was wearing a purple shirt. The other man is described as Hispanic, in his early 20s, around 5-foot-7 and wearing a striped shirt.

The woman was described as Hispanic and in her late 20s. She had green and red highlights in her hair and wore a black and white shirt.
