Ceres man killed in south Modesto shooting during large party, deputies say
A 30-year-old Ceres man died early Monday after being shot during a large party in south Modesto, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called about 4:40 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Olivero Road, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. They found Felipe Ramirez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Ramirez was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened during a party attended by more than 100 people. Detectives from the agency’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating. No arrests have been reported and no suspect information has been released.
A Modesto Fire Department incident summary said Engine 10 and a battalion chief staged nearby until the scene was secured by deputies. Once cleared to enter, firefighters found Ramirez with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and assisted paramedics during transport to the hospital.
