Modesto man charged with assault in Turlock incident. Alleged weapon was vehicle

A Modesto man was arrested on an assault charge following an incident Sunday in Turlock.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Turlock police and emergency units responded to a reported aggravated assault in an alley in the 1300 block of East Avenue.

Witnesses told police that 30-year-old Bobby Bailey and another man had been in a verbal altercation. Police said Bailey got into a vehicle and accelerated toward the adult male victim. Reports indicated the victim suffered multiple injuries.

Bailey was booked in jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Bail was set at $75,000.
