Turlock police respond to 3 stabbings in 2 days, incidents believed unrelated
A stabbing in Turlock on Easter Sunday left one person with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Officers responded just after 7 p.m. to the 1600 block of Lander Avenue following reports of a stabbing. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, the Turlock Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The suspect, who is known to the victim, is in custody in another county on an unrelated charge. Turlock police said they are working with that agency to pursue charges related to the Easter Sunday incident.
Since that attack, police have responded to two additional stabbing in Turlock. Investigators said the incidents are unrelated to each other and to the initial stabbing.
“We are aware of rumors suggesting these incidents are connected,” the department said in the press release. “At this time, there is no evidence to support that claim.”
The second stabbing occurred around 12:20 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of Park Street, according to the Modesto Fire Department. The victim was transported to a local trauma facility.
A third stabbing took place later that morning, around 9:30 a.m., near Main Street and Grant Avenue. That victim was also taken to a local trauma center.
Police said each case remains under investigation and there is no known ongoing threat to public safety.
