Man shot while driving west of Keyes in Stanislaus County

A man was shot while driving down a Stanislaus County road on Wednesday night, authorities said.

The victim was heading west on East Keyes Road approaching Crows Landing Road at about 9:35 p.m. when somebody shot several times at his four-door sedan, according to Sgt. Anthony Bejaran of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department. (Click here to see video)

The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where investigators hoped to talk to him about the incident.

There was no immediate information about the suspects and no information about the condition of the suspect.

The area is fairly rural so it wasn’t immediately known if there were many witnesses available although law enforcement on scene were talking to a couple of people.
