Valley Springs man accused of sexual relationship with Oakdale 14-year-old

A 30-year-old Valley Springs man was arrested early Friday morning on suspicion engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old Oakdale girl he met on a messaging app.

Oakdale Police Detective Aaron Beatty said the suspect met the victim on the app Badoo several months ago.

The girls parents learned of her alleged relationship with the suspect Thursday and reported it to police.

The suspect, Christopher Campbell, was arrested at 3 a.m. Friday at an undisclosed location in Oakdale, Beatty said.

Campbell was arrested on suspicion of continuous sexual abuse of a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and oral copulation with a minor.
