A Ceres man faces life in prison for sexually assaulting a child repeatedly for five years, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Filemon Olmos, 38, was convicted for sexually assaulting a girl two to three times a week from 2017 to 2022. The abuse began when the girl was seven years old.

“After several years of being assaulted, the victim found the courage to tell a police officer what was happening to her,” read a DA’s Office press release.

The investigation was immediately started after the girl contacted them. Detectives with the Ceres Police Department arrested Olmos when they finished their investigation.

Olmos was convicted by a jury for assaulting a child 10-years-old or younger, five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14-years-old and other related charges. He faces a sentence of 85 years to life in prison. Olmos is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 28.
