Three men break into Stanislaus County home, looking for safe. Two kids at home not hurt

Three men committed a home invasion robbery Tuesday morning in southeast Modesto while two children were inside the house, police said.

Modesto police are investigating the reported robbery, that occurred around 8 a.m. on Clogston Way near North McClure Road.

A home surveillance video shows a man wearing a construction vest kicking the front door of the home.

A 13-year-old girl told police three men entered the home, one of whom carried a firearm, said Sharon Bear, Modesto police spokeswoman. The girl reportedly was held at gunpoint as the intruders searched the house for a safe.

A 3-year-old boy also was home. The three men took some items and fled the scene. No one was injured during the incident, Bear said.

The homeowner reportedly told the KCRA news station that 49ers jackets and athletic shoes were stolen.

The Modesto Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating and trying to identify the men, all of whom were reportedly wearing construction clothes.
