Pair of shootings reported in Stanislaus on Friday. Two injured and at least one arrest

A pair of shootings in Stanislaus County on Friday left two injured and resulted in at least one arrest, according to official reports.

The shootings were not connected and happened in separate locations.

The first shooting happened at about 2 p.m. on the 5600 block of McHenry Avenue. One person was injured and taken to a local hospital, according to Sgt. Luke Schwartz, spokesman for the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.

The person shot was described as having injuries that were not life-threatening, but the person is facing partial paralysis, Schwartz said.

The matter surrounding the shooting was a dispute between property management and a tenant, according to the Sheriff’s Office. One person was arrested.

Another shooting was reported in Turlock at about 11 p.m. Officers with the Turlock Police Department were called to the 900 block of North Olive Avenue and found a person with a gunshot wound to their “lower extremity,” according to the Modesto Fire Department’s incident summary.

The person was taken to a local hospital.
