Two arrested on suspicion of armed robbery of market in Modesto

Two men were arrested on suspicion of committing an armed robbery of Sam’s Food Mart in central Modesto in May, according to a Modesto Police Department release.

A 31-year-old Hughson resident and 29-year-old Modesto resident were arrested Thursday and face charges of robbery. MPD stated the men robbed a clerk at the small Lucern Avenue bodega for an “undisclosed amount” on May 17. The clerk was uninjured.

The Modesto resident was out on bail for a previous robbery, according to the release.
