One person was killed, and one was injured, in a shooting on the 700 block of Wayside Drive in Turlock on Tuesday, according to the Turlock Police Department.

The shooting happened at about 7 p.m. Officers with TPD were dispatched to an “assault with a deadly weapon call” and found two people with gunshot wounds, TPD spokesperson Dominique Sanchez said.

“One victim — male (of) unknown age — had multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a Modesto hospital,” wrote Sanchez in a text message. “ He’s still in the hospital. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.”

The second person they found was identified as 19-year-old Amado Escobedo, a Ceres resident.

Sanchez said that homicide detectives’ initial investigation determined the shooting was an “isolated incident.”

As of Wednesday morning, no one had been arrested in connection with the shooting. TPD did not provide any additional information.
