Bicyclist shot in suspected Modesto gang attack
A 21-year-old man was shot several times while riding a bicycle late Saturday in west Modesto, police said.
The victim was listed in serious but stable condition and expected to survive, said Modesto police Lt. Brandon Gillespie.
The shooting occurred shortly before 10:40 p.m. as the victim was riding a bicycle along the 500 block of Laurel Avenue, a few blocks north of Maze Boulevard. Shots were reportedly fired from a white truck, hitting the bicyclist. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators suspect the shooting was gang-related.
